Four copies of 884 cards each is all you need to enjoy the game of Magic: The Gathering.

I’m not a fan of Magic: The Gathering.

Let alone, why is there a market for it in 2022?

If I was to ever play Magic with friends, I only play the Old School 93/94 format.

The rules for Old School are as followed:

There are only 7 legal sets. And three of them are basically the same. Those are,

All cards referencing “ante” in text are banned. Why? Because we are not playing that variant. This is a card game.

Don’t ever buy Magic products unless they are reissuing the sets above, or as a single game. My suggestion is that there should be a fixed one-box solution to the game, while a few fixed expansions is plausible too. Why should I buy randomized booster packs in the age of complete information over the internet? Why should there ever be a play-to-win model?

I advocate full pirate proxies of all 884 cards, until there is a new game or a series dedicated to the Old School format.

This is a card game. It should have a large pool to draft from, but should not go over the 2,000 card limit, due to the game rules breaking from glitches and loopholes. A card game close to 1000 cards, but not over 2000, is good.

I also demand that the card backs be changed to segregate itself as unique game from where Magic is now.

Below is a complete list of 884 cards that makes Magic: The Gathering a complete game. Nothing more, nothing less. Note, I added a “4” prefix as the copy number.

I suggest 4 copies of each card should be readily available for each player.

Copy the list below and paste it in a Magic list-to-pdf application. The name of the application is usually called a “Magic proxy printer” or “Magic proxy list.” It will generate a full scan of cards in pdf format to print and play with. Take that pdf, and tell a Chinese merchant or website to print them out for you. Sleeve the cards.
